Big doings in Seneca

Electric passenger buses have been riding Seneca streets and highway for months, but today is an event to celebrate an achievement for which the city can claim national distinction. Grand opening takes place today for Seneca’s electric vehicle facility at the Seneca Rail Park, a former textile manufacturing building at 320 Shiloh Road. Riley Johnson, events coordinator, says among those invited are representatives of “CAT”—Clemson Area Transit—-and Proterra, the Greenville company that built the buses. Johnson says his city is proud to have accomplished filling the large building with the bus terminal and other business employers. “It’s almost filled now,” he said.
