City providing Good News about the Community

Since May of 2015, the City of Seneca has been airing a Saturday morning radio show called City Talk that is geared toward getting good news out, explains Seneca Events Coordinator Riley Johnson. “Mayor Dan Alexander had this idea about doing a radio show and getting the good news out and getting the stories out about what is going on in our community.” Johnson tells how to be a guest on City Talk. “It’s so easy, you can call 864-885-2710 and just leave a message. Tell me who you are, where you’re calling from, I will call you back, and we will get you on that show. It’s absolutely free and you can talk about ten minutes or so and talk about whatever you are doing, whether it is a yard sale, bake sale, church activity, or anything, just good news about what you are doing. Just call 864-885-2710, leave your name and number and I will call you back.” Johnson and Seneca Mayor Dan Alexander co-host City Talk every Saturday morning from 8-9am on 94.1 The Lake, WSNW. You can also listen to previous shows on the city’s website at www.seneca.sc.us by clicking on the events tab. There is another avenue that the city is using to get good news out, continues Johnson. “City Talk is really doing good and it gives us a chance to get the good news out and it kind of goes along with our newsletter. If you have received our newsletter, it comes in your water and power bill, and you need to read that because it has some great stories. It is just another way that the mayor and the city council decided to get to get the good news out.” Look for the city’s newsletter each month in your Seneca Light and Water bill.
