Clemson Tigers win ACC Football Title

On Saturday in Orlando, Florida, the Clemson Tigers withstood a late Virginia Tech Hokies rally to secure its second straight ACC football championship with a 42-35 win. Clemson won its 16th ACC championship and now has the most ACC football titles, one more than Florida State. It was Clemson’s 22nd conference title in school history dating to 1896 when the program began. This is the first time Clemson has won back-to-back ACC football titles since 1986-87-88 when Clemson won three in a row. This is Clemson’s third ACC football title in the last six years after going 20 years in between titles. With the win, the Clemson Tigers improve to 12-1 on the season and advance to the College Football Playoffs for a second straight year. The Tigers face the Ohio State Buckeyes in the Fiesta Bowl in Glendale, Arizona on New Years Eve, Dec. 31, 2016. Kick-off will be at 7pm.
