Gamecocks reach Sweet 16 for First Time

The No. 7 seed South Carolina Gamecocks upset the No. 2 seed Duke Blue Devils, 88-81, Sunday night to advance to its first Sweet 16 in the NCAA Tournament’s expanded bracket. The Gamecocks had not won an NCAA Tournament game in 44 years coming into the weekend. With the win, the Gamecocks improve to 24-10 on the season. Next up is the East Regional at Madison Square Garden where the Gamecocks will face the No. 3 seed Baylor Bears in the Sweet 16 on Friday night with tip off set for 7:29pm.
