Golden Corner Flying Club looking for New Members

Have you ever wanted to fly around the Golden Corner to see the waterfalls from the air? Well a new flying club is looking for members and they will even teach you how to fly, explains Golden Corner Flying Club CEO Eddie Perry. “The first time is very exciting when you are by yourself, but every time you fly it is something different, it’s wonderful and there are different challenges.” Chief Pilot and Safety Officer Vic Holley gives the purpose and mission of the club. “The Golden Corner Flying Club is about making flying and learning to fly affordable.” Holley tells more about the club. “We are at approximately 10 members now, that comes and goes, but 10 members and that is the ideal number for an airplane, so we are actively look to add an airplane and more members.” Golden Corner Flying Club President Red Gardner gives a few reasons for joining the club. “One of the main reasons for a budding young person who is interested in maybe joining the military, the military no longer offers primary flight training; you need to be a qualified private pilot. Again, this is a very inexpensive way to prepare for the future. I joined for the camaraderie, I like to be around intelligent people and I like to keep my mind active and learn some things and brush up on some things that I learned 30-40 years ago.” To learn more about the Golden Corner Flying Club, visit their page on Facebook or call Eddie Perry at 864-723-2914.
