Jazz attracting Visitors to Seneca

Jazz is attracting more and more people to the City of Seneca. Every Thursday night, April through October in downtown Seneca, the city hosts Jazz on the Alley, which is a free event encouraging fellowship, explains Seneca Mayor Dan Alexander. “We see a lot of people from out of town that come. I know there is one couple that heard about it from Toccoa; they come every week now and enjoy the atmosphere and enjoy some good food while they are here.” The crowd for Jazz on the Alley has grown so much that the Seneca City Council is considering moving the stage, continues Mayor Alexander. “This has been a great year; we’ve had great turnouts. We are still looking at the possibility of doing an L shape by putting the band at the center of Townville Street and Ram Cat Alley. Probably at one of our next meetings we will discuss that more.” To see who is playing each week at Jazz on the Alley, visit the city’s website at www.seneca.sc.us.
