Man charged with Attempted Murder after shooting at Party

A Chapin man stands charged with attempted murder after deputies with the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office say he shot a man in the neck during a fight at a party in Central. Hundreds of people attended the party Saturday night at The Cottages of Clemson, one of those was 21-year-old Jackson Quaid Rowland. Deputies say a fight broke out among several men, when a shot was fired from a handgun striking a 21-year-old Tri-County Technical College student in the neck. The victim was hospitalized and doctors expected him to recover. After an investigation in which numerous party goers were interviewed, deputies arrested Rowland on attempted murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime charges.
