Nine Clemson Tigers selected in 2016 NFL Draft

Nine former Clemson Tigers were selected in the NFL Draft over the three-day event in Chicago. The nine selections are the second most in one season in the history of the football program at Clemson University. It was also the second most for any college program in the nation this year, only Ohio State had more with 12. Seven of the nine Clemson players selected this year were defensive players. Congratulations to Shaq Lawson for being drafted by the Buffalo Bills in the first round with the 19th pick. In the second round, Kevin Dodd went to the Tennessee Titans, the Minnesota Vikings selected MacKensie Alexander and T.J. Green went to the Indianapolis Colts. The New York Giants in the fourth round drafted B.J. Goodson and D.J. Reader went to the Houston Texans in the fifth round. In the seventh round of the 2016 NFL Draft, Charone Peake went to the New York Jets, the Minnesota Vikings drafted Jayron Kearse and Zac Brooks went to the Seattle Seahawks.
