OC Sheriff’s Office seeks Two Persons of Interest in relation to Shooting

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office seeks to speak with two persons of interests in relation to a shooting that occurred Monday afternoon. The Sheriff’s Office has been trying to locate and speak with 43-year-old Billy Lloyd Butts and 37-year-old William Roger Daniel “Danny” McGuffin, both of Westminster, since the shooting occurred late Monday afternoon but have been unable to do so. The shooting happened at a location on Blackjack Road. The E-911 Communications Center received a call for service Monday around 4:48pm from the Hasty Mart convenience store at 3109 West-Oak Highway in regards to a male who stated he had been shot. Deputies from the Uniform Patrol Division, the Criminal Investigations Division along with paramedics and firefighters responded to the scene. Officers discovered a male that had been shot in the mid-section. The victim was flown by helicopter to the hospital. The victim had driven from the location of the shooting to the convenience store. The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing their investigation. Anyone with any information on the whereabouts of Butts or McGuffin is asked to call 864-638-4111.
