Oconee jobless rate holds steady

The jobless rate for Oconee County held steady between January and February. The state reported today that in February the percentage of the county’s workforce out of work but actively looking for employment remained 6.5%. The report comes on a day when Oconee County Council members are touring one of the county’s manufacturing employers—ITT Control Technologies. Across South Carolina, according to the Department of Employment and Workforce, Oconeeans and their fellow state residents are on an upward march. The estimated number of employed people statewide was 2,090,232.
