SC Gas Prices Up

South Carolina drivers are paying more at the pump.  According to AAA Carolinas, motorists in the Palmetto State have experienced a steady increase in gas prices in recent months.  The motor club says that motorists taking to the road this weekend will still find it a bit cheaper to drive than a year ago. AAA Carolinas reports that prices have increased 36 cents per gallon since Christmas. Nevertheless, prices are about a penny a gallon less than last Easter. The average price for a gallon of gas statewide is now about $3.43 a gallon. Gas prices ordinarily increase during the spring as there is a crimp in supply while refineries change over to making less-polluting summer blends of gas.
