SCHSL extends Regular Season

Due to Hurricane Matthew, the South Carolina High School League (SCHSL) has extended the high school football regular season by a week to accommodate the number of games in the lower part of the state that will not be played. The playoffs will, thus, also be extended by a week to now end Dec. 9-10. The league made a similar move last season when flooding in the lower part of the state led to numerous postponements. So, Upstate schools will sit-out one week of games, Week 11, which would have been the first week of the playoffs but will now be the final week of the regular season for many lower state schools.
