Seneca Bobcats finish Second in the State in AAA Baseball

The Seneca Bobcats finished the season as the second best AAA baseball team in South Carolina. Saturday afternoon in Lexington, the Bobcats lost to the Battling Bishops of Bishop England, 4-2, in game 3 of the best of three game State Championship Series. Bishop England scored first when a lead off walk came around the diamond in the top of the first inning. Seneca answered back scoring two runs in the bottom of the first inning thanks to a pair of seeing eye singles by Furman Wilson and Matthew Burgess. Wilson’s hit was later ruled an error on the right fielder. He scored on a single by Tristen Hudson. Burgess came in on a fielder’s choice by Walker Lathrop. Unfortunately, those were the only two runs of the game for the Bobcats. The Battling Bishops took the lead for good in the top of the sixth inning with three doubles. The Bobcats conclude a magical season with a 24-5 record and a second place finish in the state.
