Seneca shuts out Pickens to advance

The Seneca Bobcats continued their winning ways Friday night beating the Pickens Blue Flame, 42-0 in the first round of the Class AAA State Playoffs. The Bobcats were equally powerful through the air and on the ground, scoring three touchdowns each way. Seneca quarterback Elijah Turner connected with wide receiver Andre Wright on two touchdown passes, 37 and 30-yards respectfully. Turner also found wide receiver Chris Latimer on a 27-yard touchdown pass. Running back Braxton Gambrell added two scores on runs of 2 and 41-yards and Jacory Benson ran for a 15-yard touchdown. Kicker Hunter Pearson made all six of his point after attempts. In addition, the Bobcat defense notched their third shutout of the season. With the win, Seneca improves to 11-0 on the season and advances to the second round of the Class AAA State Football Playoffs. On Friday, Nov. 20, the Bobcats host the Chapman Panthers, who beat AC Flora 31-13 in the first round to advance. Kickoff is set for 7:30pm on Coach Tom Bass Field at Bobcat Stadium.
