Six Tigers selected in 2017 NFL Draft

Six of ten Clemson Tiger prospects were selected in the 2017 NFL Draft. Wide receiver Mike Williams was drafted 7th by the Los Angeles Chargers, quarterback Deshaun Watson was picked 12th by the Houston Texans, cornerback Cordrea Tankersley was drafted 97th by the Miami Dolphins, running back Wayne Gallman was drafted by the New York Giants in the fourth round, defensive tackle Carlos Watkins was selected in the fourth round by the Houston Texans, and tight end Jordan Leggett was picked in the fifth round by the New York Jets. With six players selected, this marks the ninth straight year Clemson has had at least four players selected in the NFL draft. Several members of the 2016 National Champion Clemson Tiger football team were also signed as free agents immediately following the draft. Linebacker Ben Boulware signed with the Carolina Panthers, wide receiver Artavis Scott signed with the Los Angeles Chargers, safety Jadar Johnson signed with the New York Giants, and quarterback Nick Schuessler signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
