Student arrested for threats against West-Oak High School

For making threats against West-Oak High School, a student has been arrested by the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office, tells Public Information Officer Jimmy Watt. “On March 28, a deputy of ours received some information from an employee at the school in reference to a student that had made a threat towards the school to execute what had been described as a Columbine style school shooting at West-Oak High School sometime before the end of the year. The deputy began an investigation into the case, made contact with the suspect in the case as well and based on the results of that investigation, based upon the evidence that was gathered, probable cause that was obtained, an arrest warrant was issued against the suspect for disturbing schools. The student was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center on that charge and was released on a $2,000 personal recognizance bond.” The student arrested was 18-year-old Amy McKenzie Faust of Seneca. An affidavit to an arrest warrant, signed by Magistrate Blake Norton, says that she claimed to have a list of targets at the school.
