Survey on Hacked Credit Cards

Retailers that suffered hack-attacks may lose some customers this coming holiday season. Matt Schultz of CreditCards.com points to a survey indicating 45% of consumers “definitely” or “probably” would avoid shopping at places that had data-breaches. “Any time that you have 45% of your customers considering not shopping at your store that would be concerning.” For some reason, wealthier shoppers are not so worried, adds Schultz. “The higher income you have, the more likely you are to blow off the data-breach and still shop at a place that had been hit.” Older Americans are even more concerned; with 54% of people over age 65 saying, they would avoid those retailers that had data-breaches.
