Upstate celebrating Quilting

The rich heritage of quilting will once again be celebrated throughout Oconee County during the month of September, with the bi-annual Lake and Mountains Quilt Guild (LMQG) quilt show co-sponsored by the Upstate Heritage Quilt Trail. The show is located at the Shaver Recreation Complex in Seneca and runs September 19, from 9am to 6pm and September 20, from 9am to 5pm. Admission is $5 at the door. The LMQG show will feature vendors, boutiques of wondrous items, sales of library items, quilts for sale and a silent auction of other delightful treasures. In addition, Quilt Appraiser Holly Anderson will be available to do both written and verbal appraisals of quilts in the Seneca area for a fee. Visitors to the main Guild show at the Shaver Complex will also be able to view over 200 fabric quilts on display throughout Oconee County. The offsite exhibits feature other points of interest in Oconee County. Many of the over 80 outdoor painted quilt panels on the Quilt Trail can be viewed as you drive to the venues displaying fabric quilts. A map will be available at the Guild Show to guide you to locations throughout the county as well as take a self-guided driving tour of the Upstate Heritage Quilt Trail.
