Vacuum Tubes to be replaced at Seneca Light & Water

Plans are in the works to replace the old vacuum tubes at Seneca Light & Water. “On the Light & Water side, when you come up and you have the shoots that send the money over in the vacuum, those have been in there probably ever since the beginning and those have been starting to have trouble, so Utilities Director Bob Faires wants them replaced. It was in this year’s budget and Bob has already planned to do this. Probably the cost is going to be around $17,000 to replace some of that equipment. That is a specialty item, so we will be suspending some purchasing rules to contract with a company to put that equipment in there.” Seneca Mayor Dan Alexander said the City Council would consider approval of the purchasing order at their next meeting scheduled for Oct. 13.
