World Premier of Busted Wedding Belles tonight at WCA

The world premier of the southern comedy, Busted Wedding Belles, is tonight at the Walhalla Civic Auditorium. Clemson native Ginny McKinney wrote the play. “Carol Ann is a happy widow with a new lease on life. Her niece, Faylene, is woman with a secret, perhaps more than one. Ruthie, a twice-divorced perpetual dater, commands her friends, “To please take a 357 and shoot me between the eyes, if I ever say yes to another marriage proposal.” In addition, Elysa is a self-proclaimed modern spinster with a house full of cats and a handful of failed relationships under her belt. Hardly the foursome to extol the virtues of matrimony, the women gather at Carol Ann’s home to host a “Boudoir Expressions” shower in honor of Carol Ann’s granddaughter, Ashlyn. Alas, one of the party planners has a secret agenda, to stop the wedding. Will disaster ensue, or can these four-busted wedding belles pull it together for the sake of the bride. Whatever the answer, there will be plenty of laughs along the way.” McKinney said the Walhalla Civic Auditorium was the perfect venue to host the world premier. “I love the venue at Walhalla. I think it is a beautiful theatre, they bring in top notch performances and I’ve been able to see a number of productions that they bring and so I was hoping for a theatre that has that real community feel and is so inclusive of everyone.” Busted Wedding Belles shows April 24-26 and May 1-3 with evening shows at 8pm and Sunday matinees at 2:30pm. Tickets are $12 for adults with children under 12 admitted for $6 and group rates available for $10. To order tickets call 864-638-5277 or online www.walhallacivic.com.
