10 Persons Killed On South Carolina Roadways During July 4th Travel Period, According to South Carolina Department Of Public Safety

(Seneca, SC)————The South Carolina Department of Public Safety announced that a preliminary number of 10 persons were killed on South Carolina roadways during the July 4th travel period, which began at 6pm last Wednesday, July 3rd and concluded just before midnight this past Sunday, July 7th.

Four of those deaths occurred during the weekend time period between 6pm Friday, July 5th until just before midnight, Sunday, July 7th.

As of July 7th, 472 people have died on South Carolina roadways, compared to 520 highway deaths during the same time period in 2018.

As of July 7th, 18 persons have died on roadways in Anderson County, five persons have died on roadways in Oconee County and eight persons have died on roadways in Pickens County.
