2018 Arts and Historical Passports for Family Fun

The Oconee County Arts and Historical Commission announces the second edition of the “Passport to Arts, Treasures and History” (PATH), explains Oconee County Parks, Recreation and Tourism Director Phil Shirley. “This is designed to engage our local citizens and re-introduce them to the amazing treasures Oconee County has to offer, the Passport showcases 22 sites for family fun. Participants who visit all 22 sites and show their completed passports by the end of the year will receive a special gem and be entered for the grand prize treasure. In 2017, PATH led residents and tourists alike to discover Oconee County’s rich history, cultural diversity, and artistic talents. Let’s all continue to ‘Celebrate Oconee,’ exploring all its hidden treasures during our county’s sesquicentennial year. We received really good feedback in 2017 and are thrilled to extend our passport program for a second year. We have an abundance of cultural, historical and artistic venues and our goal is to engage with our community and create ambassadors for these treasured sites.” Passports will be available at the Oconee Heritage Center, South Cove County Park and at manned sites listed in the passport program.
