The City of Walhalla Water Department has issued a 24-hour boil water advisory for customers along Highlands Highway from Zion to Laurel Hill Drive, affecting both sides of the highway and the surrounding area (shaded map of affected area included), after contractors struck and damaged a main water line.

During this period, residents must vigorously boil water for at least three minutes before using it for drinking, cooking, or food preparation, and should discard any ice made from unboiled water, while water samples are collected and tested, with the advisory remaining in effect until the city officially lifts it and notifies customers through official channels.
