Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Arrests Seneca Man On Multiple Charges, Including Breaking Into Deputy’s Patrol Vehicle

(Seneca, SC)—————–The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Seneca man on multiple charges last week, including charges of breaking into a patrol vehicle of a Deputy Sheriff. 31 year old Daniel Lloyd Stevens was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center last Friday afternoon. 

Deputies responded to the Cherokee Gardens area off of Highway 123 the morning of March 21st after a deputy discovered that his patrol vehicle had been broken into and that several items were taken. Among the items taken were a tactical type rifle, magazines and a ballistics vest. 

As the investigation commenced and continued, Stevens became a person of interest in the investigation. Deputies responded to Stevens’ residence and placed him under arrest on an active arrest warrant. 

A search of Stevens’ residence produced items that were stolen from the patrol vehicle. Deputies also recovered items from four other vehicle break-ins that occurred going as far back as February 13th. 

In total, the Sheriff’s Office obtained 13 arrest warrants against Stevens. The breakdown of the warrants shows five charges of Breaking Into a Motor Vehicle, four counts of Petit Larceny, two counts of Grand Larceny, one count of 2nd Degree Burglary and one count of Unlawful Taking of a Firearm or Weapon From a Law Enforcement Officer.
