500+ Doses of COVID-19 Vaccine Administered in Anderson on Saturday

Prisma Health said it has open dedicated, high-volume community COVID-19 vaccine centers in Greenville and Columbia. In Greenville, the vaccination site, located inside the former Kmart building, is open Monday-Saturday, 7 a.m.-7 p.m. All community appointments from Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital will be transferred to this site. The drive-thru vaccination site in Columbia is open Monday-Saturday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. at Gamecock Park near U of SC Williams Brice Stadium.

AnMed continues to schedule appointments for patients 70+ for a COVID-19 vaccine. The Anderson Civic Center has for the most part been empty over the course of the pandemic, but on Saturday it was the host of a COVID-19 vaccination clinic.

More than 500 community members got their first dose. A partnership between AnMed Health and Anderson County made the vaccination clinic possible, as South Carolina gets deeper into phase 1A of its vaccine rollout plan.
