911 service affected by AT&T Outage in OC

An AT&T outage is affecting the 911 service and some residential phone service in Oconee County. All land lines to homes, businesses, government offices and emergency agencies have been inoperable since before 7am this morning, according to Oconee County Emergency Services director Scott Krein. Those needing 911 service can call the alternate number (864) 638-4111 for assistance.  Officials do not have a timeline on repairs at this time but will be working to restore service as soon as possible.  They said if you cannot reach anyone by phone, go to the nearest Fire Department or Rescue Squad for assistance.  Every Emergency Services Station in Oconee County is being staffed during this 911 outage.
