Additional Arrest in Operation Infinity Drug Sweep Round-Up

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office announces an additional arrest in the seventeenth “Operation Infinity” drug sweep round-up that began on Aug. 31. The Sheriff’s Office teamed up with law enforcement partners from the Salem and Walhalla Police Departments on this latest drug sweep round-up. In all, 23 individuals were being sought on a variety of drug charges involving methamphetamine, marijuana, heroin, crack cocaine, cocaine, prescription drugs and an unlawful neglect of a child charge. The most recent arrest involves 44-year-old Eliacer Vazquez, Jr. of Seneca for distribution of marijuana, second offense. He was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center on Oct. 18, and remains in custody on a $10,000 surety bond. So far, 19 individuals have been arrested or were already in jail and have been served their arrest warrants. That total includes two individuals arrested who were not among those originally being sought in the roundup. The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing their investigation.
