Seneca searching for New City Administrator

On June 30, 2018, Greg Dietterick will retire as Seneca City Administrator after 20 years of service. Seneca Mayor Dan Alexander said replacing him will be difficult but that a search is underway. “Greg and I have already started that conversation and probably what will take place maybe in November or December we’ll sort of start putting that word out and some of it is already being put out but we’ll advertise for that position and look at the candidates as they come in and we’ll go through the interview process. It’s going to be a tough position to fill.” Fortunately for the city, says Mayor Alexander, Dietterick will remain on the job to assist in the transition to his replacement. “Thank goodness Greg is going to be here for a little while through this transition period, so it is not like we have to rush through it, so we are just going to take our time and get the best person we can get.” Dietterick has done a lot for the city over the last 20 years, concludes Mayor Alexander. “Greg has done a lot of good things for Seneca and his heart and sole is in it there is no doubt about that but I’m looking forward for him, that he is going to be able to retire.” Among the major accomplishments during Dietterick’s tenure as City Administrator are improvements to the Water Treatment Plant, all-electric, fare free public transit, and several downtown revitalization projects.
