Name released in Seneca Traffic Fatality

The family has been notified and Oconee County Coroner Karl Addis is releasing the name of the elderly man killed in a traffic accident Monday morning. A passing motorist made a call for service reporting this incident to the Oconee County 911 Communications Center at approximately 7:15am; however, this collision is believed to have occurred Sunday afternoon, Nov. 12, between 5:30-6pm. Addis says that 79-year-old Thomas Lowell Loesch of Six Mile, was discovered dead at the scene and still restrained in the driver seat of his Toyota Camry, which had overturned off the roadway into a small creek. He died from a broken neck with immersion in water a contributing factor to his death too. Addis reports that his manner of death is accidental and that no autopsy will be performed. Troopers with the South Carolina Highway Patrol report that this was a single vehicle collision on Keowee River Road in Seneca, near the Oconee Nuclear Station.
