South Cove County Park looking New Again

Oconee County Parks, Recreation and Tourism Director Phil Shirley encourages you to visit South Cove County Park in Seneca to see the new look. “If you have not been to South Cove in the last two or three years then I encourage you to come out and see what your county is putting together. We are focusing on a rebuilding process that will continue throughout all of our county parks but we have started here at South Cove. We have a new office here at South Cove. We are looking to rebuild the gatehouse, which is a project going on now that will match the design of the office and this past winter we did a lot of upgrades to our campgrounds. So, we have a number of things that we’ve accomplished, but yet a number of things still on the radar that we want to get to in the future. So, please come on out and check out South Cove. If you haven’t camped with us in a while make it a priority to come and camp with us on the lake.” South Cove County Park is a 48-acre park nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains and located on the waters of Lake Keowee. The park has 86 campsites with water and electricity on each site. Fishing, boating, sailing and water skiing are readily available via three access ramps. Day use facilities include four tennis courts, basketball, playground areas, picnic areas, a handicapped accessible fishing pier and a waterfront sand beach for sun bathing. In addition, South Cove offers two rental buildings that are available by reservations. To learn more, visit www.experienceoconee.com.
