Reserve America paying off for OC

Thanks in part to Reserve America, an online booking agency for campgrounds, people have stayed more nights at county operated parks this year compared to last. Oconee County Parks, Recreation and Tourism Director Phil Shirley says camping at Chau Ram, High Falls, and South Cove parks has also generated additional revenue this year. “We track this every month, so that we can determine our growth. We can actually go into the system and see where these folks are coming from in case we want to do some marketing behind that. Through October this year, we’ve done almost 1,400 more nights compared to the same time last year and as a result our revenue is up about $25,000, which results in about a 13% increase over this time last year. So, the Reserve America system that we are utilizing, we are in our fourth year of this now and we continue to see gains year over year and we’re excited about where that has taken us.” From July through October of this year, which is the current fiscal year for which these figures represent, Chau Ram welcomed campers for 550 nights, High Falls for 3,238 nights and South Cove for 4,630 nights.
