Formal Charges filed against Seneca Man in Utica Mill Hill Assault

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office has filed formal charges against a Seneca man in the investigation of an assault Sunday on the Utica Mill Hill, explains Public Information Officer Jimmy Watt. “27-year-old Diviero Delaney Manley of Washington Street in Seneca was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center around 11:36am yesterday on a temporary custody order until arrest warrants were obtained today charging Manley with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime. The E-911 Communications Center received a call yesterday morning in reference to the reported assault in which a female reportedly had her throat cut. Deputies arrived on the scene, upon which they discovered the female at the incident location. Deputies began an investigation and notified the on-call investigator who responded to the scene. As evidence was gathered in the case, deputies were able to determine a possible person of interest in the case. According to investigators, deputies located that individual, identified as Manley, walking along Goddard Avenue. The female victim was airlifted to the hospital to receive treatment for her injuries. According to the arrest warrants and based upon evidence gathered as a result of the investigation, the victim was stabbed multiple times, with most of those injuries occurring in the upper part of the body.” The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing their investigation.
