Our Daily Rest open to Guests when its below 36 Degrees

Ten people have taken advantage of the white flag outside Our Daily Rest in downtown Seneca. Oconee County’s only homeless shelter waives the white flag any time the temperature drops below 36 degrees, explains Our Daily Rest Executive Director Lauren Richardson. “We put out a white flag and let people know when the temperatures are getting down to about 36 overnight. We’ll put that flag out and that means that anybody who needs a warm place to be can come and sleep in the living room. We’ve got pallets we put down and a couple of couches and people can be warm. We feed them and give them warmer clothing and stuff if they need it and then in the morning they can go do what they do and if it is still going to be cold that night, they can come back and stay again.” Our Daily Rest is located at 525 East Main Street in Seneca.
