OC Sheriff’s Office still investigating Westminster Homicide

Since late last month, investigators with the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office have been working non-stop to find a killer. They want to arrest the person responsible for the fatal shooting of a 74-year-old widow who lived alone in Westminster. That victim on Nov. 26, was Joann McCarthy of Creekwood Lane, not far from SC 11. The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office wants to talk to anyone who may have information helpful to solving the case. According to the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office, it is believed McCarthy died at the hands of someone known to her.
