Easley Man arrested for trafficking in Methamphetamine

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office arrested an Easley man Thursday morning on charges of trafficking in methamphetamine after a traffic stop. Booked into the Oconee County Detention Center was 36-year-old Jay Allan Loggins. A deputy on routine patrol observed a blue Ford F-150 pickup on Coneross Creek Road with a broken passenger tail light lens. The deputy initiated a traffic stop in the area of Friendship Road and Coneross Creek Road. The deputy made contact with Loggins, who was the driver. Loggins gave conflicting statements to the deputy while talking with him and appeared to be nervous. The deputy also discovered that the tag displayed on the Ford F-150 was supposed to be displayed on a 1999 Ford Expedition. Loggins gave the deputy consent to search the vehicle, which produced a quantity of methamphetamine under a seat in the vehicle as well as under the truck bed cover. Loggins was placed under arrest and transported to the Oconee County Detention Center while the vehicle was towed from the scene.
