OC Sheriff’s Office issues Release on Unresponsive Inmate

Around 2:10pm on Saturday, Jan. 20, deputies from the Uniform Patrol Division responded to the Oconee County Detention Center for a female inmate who had been found unresponsive by Detention Officers working in the jail. The inmate was being held alone in a single occupancy holding cell when she was discovered by Detention Officers. When deputies arrived, paramedics were already on scene treating the patient, 26-year-old Nathlee Nicole Wright of Gastonia, North Carolina. The patient was transported to Oconee Memorial Hospital for further treatment. Due to the inmate being under the supervision of the Oconee County Detention Center at the time she was found unresponsive and operating under standard protocols, Oconee County Sheriff Mike Crenshaw asked the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division to conduct an inquiry regarding this incident. The incident was then turned over to the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division.
