Moore excited to serve OC on ACOG

The Oconee County Municipal Association recently elected Seneca City Councilman Dana Moore to represent Oconee County on the South Carolina Appalachian Council of Governments (ACOG). “Well, it is really a great honor for me to be able to do that. I look forward to working with them, in fact we went to the meeting on Friday and got our feet on the ground. There’s a lot of work to do but I look forward to representing Oconee County.” Councilman Moore tells a little about what ACOG does for our area. “It is a liaison group between the state, federal government, our counties and municipalities. There are ten COGs across the state and the Appalachian Council of Governments represents the six counties across the top of the state. We do a lot of things with the aging, veterans benefits, working with the DOT and transportation. So, its got its fingers in a lot of different things.” The board of the government service agency meets in Greenville to address issues facing the Upstate of South Carolina.
