Getting started with Crochet at OHC

The Oconee Heritage Center (OHC) announces an all-new class, “Getting Started with Crochet,” presented and led by local small business owner Sati Glenn, of Rows & Roses. It takes place on Thursday, Feb. 22, from 6:30-8:30pm. “We will be crocheting a wash cloth, and in doing so, will be learning how to hold the hook, how to tension the yarn, how to make chains, how to make certain stitches, and how to finish off and weave in ends. There will also be brief discussion on choosing fibers and yarns for projects, and Sati will provide you with email info in case you run into trouble later,” said OHC Assistant Curator and Education Specialist Jennifer Moss. Registration is a must and will close on Feb. 10, in order to give Sati enough time to order supplies. This class will include, along with instruction and any help needed: one ball of premium acrylic yarn from Knit Picks, one premium hook, and one copy of an exclusive, original starter pattern written and published by Sati. In addition to professional support via email Mondays through Fridays. The cost is $20 for members and $25 for non-members. Learn more at www.oconeeheritagecenter.org.
