Volunteers needed at the Agricultural Museum of SC

The Bart Garrison Agricultural Museum of South Carolina, located in Pendleton, is looking for volunteers interested in helping with educational tours. During the school year, the museum hosts over 30 field trips a year. Each of these visits to the museum requires 8-10 volunteers. Many of the field trips also involve Woodburn Historic Home (c.1830). The Agricultural Museum leads these tours as well, so anyone interested in antebellum history would enjoy leading children through life in the mid-1800s. Volunteers at the Agricultural Museum have an opportunity to lead group activities on a wide range of topics from modern agricultural practices, animal science, to technology, as well as South Carolina history and life in the state in a variety of eras. Training for activities will be provided and anyone interested should contact Ellen at [email protected] or 864-207-0705. The physical address of the Museum is 120 History Lane in Pendleton. The Museum is located between Pendleton and Clemson, off Highway 76, directly across from Tri-County Technical College. Regular hours are Tuesday through Friday, noon until 5pm, and Saturday, 10am until 3pm. Admission to the Agricultural Museum is free, though donations are appreciated. Groups interested in private tours should contact Mary-Kate Tilley at 864-646-7271 or [email protected].
