Townville Shooter to appear before Judge Today

The 10th Circuit Solicitor’s Office will ask a judge today to remand an underage defendant to General Sessions Court to be tried on charges from Sept. 28, 2016, the day of shootings at Townville Elementary School. Officers of the Anderson General Sessions Court predict the proceeding before Family Court Judge Edgar Long could take five days. Today is reserved for motions in the state’s case against Jesse Dewitt Osborne; Tuesday through Thursday is reserved for witness testimony; and Friday for Judge Long’s decision. At the time of his arrest, Osborne was 14-years-old.
