Lunney House Museum getting Face Lift

A face lift of sorts is now taking place at the Lunney House Museum in Seneca. This is part of preserving the museum, says Seneca City Museums Director and Curator Dr. John Martin. “Several people have asked me, they see cherry pickers working up on the second floor, little crane type things, all kinds of activities on all the buildings; the carriage house, the out house and the house itself. It’s an ongoing restoration project. It was time to look at the paint trim and we are using a new method; its a water and sand system that takes that old paint off and right down to the wood, so it will be all primed and ready for paint. We are looking forward to having most of it done by March 21. The house will glisten once again and we are quit proud of it. We are doing a lot of small things too; inside and putting some railings outside. You do this on an ongoing basis, like owning your own home, there is always something and we have come to the point where we need to do that.” The Lunney House Museum is located at 211 West South 1st Street in Seneca.
