Seneca Man wanted for Attempted Murder arrested

A Seneca man wanted on outstanding warrants, including attempted murder, was arrested over the weekend and booked into the Oconee County Detention Center. 24-year-old Derrick Shaquille Dendy also had an outstanding warrant for possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime in relation to the same incident. He also had a Magistrate’s Bench Warrant for his arrest. At this time, Dendy remains in custody on a combined $120,000 surety bond on the two Oconee County Sheriff’s Office charges. A hold has also been placed on Dendy by the Clemson Police Department. Deputies responded to an address on Redland Ranch Road in Walhalla on Jan. 14, to reports of a shooting. When deputies arrived, they discovered a victim who had suffered a gunshot wound to the hand and midsection of his body. The victim was eventually transported to Greenville Memorial Hospital. An investigation, which was turned over to the Criminal Investigations Division, was started and evidence was gathered in the case. Based upon evidence gathered in the case, investigators obtained arrest warrants against Dendy.
