Busy Thursday for OCPL

Today, Feb. 22, is a busy day at your local library in Oconee County. Three events are planned this afternoon. The first takes place at the Westminster Library with a Lumber Jack and Jill Party, explains Oconee County Public Library (OCPL) Director Blair Hinson. “On Thursday, Feb. 22, at 4pm, the Westminster branch hosts a Lumber Jack and Jill Party. So, grab your flannel and join us for a lumberjack party. We will have games, snacks, a craft, and stories. This program is for ages three and older with a caregiver.” The Westminster Library is located at 112 West North Avenue. The Seneca Library is getting crafty this afternoon at 5:30pm, tells Hinson. “Let’s Get Crafty: Painting Without Paint is Thursday, Feb. 22, at 5:30pm at the Seneca branch. In this installment of Let’s Get Crafty, we’ll dive into creating a clever painting without using any paint at all. Supplies will be provided. This program is for those ages sixteen and older only, please.” The Seneca Library is located at 300 East South 2nd Street. Then from 6-9pm at the Walhalla Library, the OCPL hosts a community planning meeting, says Hinson. “This will help the library decide what services and programs we should offer our community. The library is working on a strategic plan for the next 2-3 years, and wants community input. All are welcome. Light refreshments provided.” The Walhalla Library is located at 501 West South Broad Street.
