Lt. Lyles awarded with Officer of the Year in OC

Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Lieutenant Mark Lyles was named as Oconee Officer of the Year at the 13th Annual Anderson, Oconee and Pickens Law Enforcement Appreciation Banquet, tells Jimmy Watt, Public Information Officer at the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office. “The banquet was held on the campus of Anderson University and the Oconee Officer of the Year Award is sponsored by 10th Circuit Solicitor David Wagner. Oconee County Sheriff Mike Crenshaw, who introduced Lyles to those who were assembled, and Solicitor Wagner, presented the award to Lyles. Lt. Lyles began his career at the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office in August of 1992 as a Uniform Patrol Deputy after graduating with a degree from Jacksonville State University. Lyles became the first D.A.R.E. officer for the Sheriff’s Office and in July of 1997, he was promoted to a K-9 officer. Lyles also worked as a Property Crimes Investigator and was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in November 2011 in Community Services, where Lyles is supervisor over the Animal Control Unit as well as the School Resource Officers for the Sheriff’s Office.” Congratulations again to Lt.
