Photo ID required to vote in Seneca Municipal Election

On Tuesday, March 13, Seneca residents will select among six candidates to fill four open seats on the city council. Only city residents are eligible to vote in the municipal election and a photo ID is required, says Oconee County Voter Registration and Elections Director Joy Scharich. “On Tuesday, March 13, the City of Seneca will be holding their General Election. Polls open at 7am until 7pm. Voting will take place in the Shaver Gymnasium. That is four precincts in that one gym, so there is Seneca 1, 2, 3, and 4. I stress that voters need to know which table or line to go to before they go on Election Day. They can find that correct precinct at www.scvotes.org, so that they don’t get into the wrong line and have to move because there are four separate precincts and you can’t cross over to each one. Also, photo ID is required, don’t forget to take your photo ID and you will have no problems on Election Day. There are six candidates running for four seats, so you can vote for one or up to four; you don’t have to vote for four but you can’t vote for more than four. That night, unofficial results will be posted on the gymnasium door and of course, the unofficial tabulation will be here at Pine Street in Walhalla as soon as everybody gets here.” Once again, polls open at 7am and close at 7pm.
