PC Sheriff’s Office arrests Man for Murder after discovery of Buried Body

The Pickens County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man following information provided to detectives late Thursday afternoon. The Sheriff’s Office received information from a witness that a man had been shot and killed following a dispute at a residence on Can Do Lane. Preliminary investigation is that the shooting is believed to have occurred in February. The witness informed detectives that there was evidence at the residence that caused them to believe that the victim’s body may still be at the scene. The Pickens County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at which time 41-year-old Timothy Keith Poole was placed under arrest for murder. A search of the property resulted in the discovery of additional evidence of the crime that ultimately led to the discovery of an adult male’s body buried in a shallow grave covered with a slab of concrete. The grave was located at the rear of the residence. An autopsy will be conducted at the request of the Pickens County Coroner’s Office to determine the manner and cause of death. Detectives did observe indicators of severe trauma on the victim’s body at the scene. Poole is currently detained in the Pickens County Detention Center charged with murder, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, and destruction or removal of human remains. The Pickens County Sheriff’s Office states that this investigation is still on going as detectives will continue to investigate over the next few days in an attempt to piece together all of the facts and circumstances that may have contributed to this violent encounter.
