Additional Arrest made in Operation Infinity Drug Sweep

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office announces an additional arrest in the seventeenth “Operation Infinity” drug sweep round-up that began on Aug. 31, 2017. The Sheriff’s Office teamed up with law enforcement partners from the Salem and Walhalla Police Departments. In all, 23 individuals were being sought on a variety of drug charges involving methamphetamine, marijuana, heroin, crack cocaine, cocaine, prescription drugs and an unlawful neglect of a child charge. The latest arrestee was 33-year-old Kayla Marlene Hendricks of Westminster for unlawful neglect of a child. She was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center on April 4, and remains in custody with a $10,000 surety bond set for her release. With this additional arrest, 22 individuals have been arrested or were already in jail and have been served their arrest warrants as part of this round up. That total includes two individuals arrested who were not among those originally being sought in the roundup. The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing their investigation and due to that fact, the names of the other individuals being sought will not be released at this time.
