OC Citizens warned about Carjacking Suspect

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office seeks the public’s help and advises citizens about an alleged carjacking that reportedly occurred in Pickens County with the vehicle being located in Oconee County. Duke Energy Security contacted the E-911 Communications Center on Friday regarding a Jeep Cherokee that was located on Highway 183 near the Oconee Nuclear Station with the driver’s door open, the lights on and no one in the vehicle. During the investigation, a white female was located and told deputies that she was made to drive into Oconee County but the vehicle ran out of gas, whereupon the female got out and according to information from dispatch, reportedly may have been thrown in the lake. According to deputies, the perpetrator was wearing an orange ski mask, a blue shirt and black pants. The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is working with the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office in this investigation. The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office asks anyone with any information to call 864-638-4111.
