Six Inches of Rain so far in April

More rain was forecast than actually fell in Walhalla Thursday night. Official U.S. Weather Observer Barbara Wilson gives rainfall totals collected at her weather station at Hickory Hollow Farm in Walhalla. “We came through with lighter here in the upper part of Oconee County but I understand that the heavy part came around Seneca and Clemson. For the county seat, we only had .31 inches with a high yesterday of 65 and an over night low of 43, but there was a thunderstorm in that.” This has been a wet month, continues Wilson. “We are over six inches already for the month of April. So, we are finishing with a good wet April. That is a little over average, right around five inches is average, so we are above average.” Rainfall amounts may differ where you live; Wilson recorded these figures from her weather station in Walhalla, which is about one-mile from the county seat.
