OC Councilmen praise Moulder as he moves from OC to Seneca

Two Oconee County Councilmen were on hand Wednesday afternoon as Scott Moulder signed a contract to become the new Seneca City Administrator. For the last eight years, Moulder has served as Oconee County Administrator, so Paul Cain and Julian Davis attended the signing to wish him well. Councilman Davis hates that Moulder is leaving the county but glad he is moving to the city. “I have always appreciated the way the municipalities and the county work together. One of the things that i have always said and I preach it, strong cities are going to make a stronger county. It is one of the things that I have continually pushed through with all of that as we serve our district but also all of the county. I couldn’t think of a better person and partner, because of all of these administrators are our partners through the county, to have than Scott Moulder. I appreciate again what he has done for the county and I’m glad he found a home here and I’m glad he is staying here. I just applaud him for what he does and we continue to be partners with him that is what is going to make this county greater than it already is.” Councilman Cain said it is bitter sweet to see Moulder leave the county for the city. “It is bitter sweet to see Scott leave. The bitter part is him leaving the county and the sweet part is seeing him come to Seneca and knowing that he is going to have support from the mayor and the rest of the council that he deserves. Scott is a thoroughbred and once he is given that freedom to run as fast and as hard in the direction that you point him, he won’t let up. Oconee County’s lost is Seneca’s gain, but Seneca’s gain is Oconee County’s gain. A strong city will help build a strong county. I’m grateful for Oconee County, especially District 3, that we have an awesome administrator coming to the City of Seneca. I congratulate the City of Seneca on the best hire, I think Scott is definitely the best guy for the job and I don’t even know who else applied. Greg, you have done an awesome job laying the ground work in the city and providing a stable foundation for Scott to help build more. So, I’m looking forward to working with y’all going forward in building a stronger Oconee County.” Moulder succeeds Greg Dietterick, who retires on June 30, after 20 years as Seneca City Administrator. Moulder’s first day working for Seneca will be May 14.
